Quote from Brene Brown.
Simply put. And not only true, but also a very valuable lesson (one that I’ve been working on unknowingly for awhile now, but am actively working on intensely right now and forever).
I’m a (recent) huge fan of Brene Brown’s work. If you have the time, I’d highly recommend her Netflix special (‘The Call to Courage’, 2019), but if you don’t have all of the time (it’s over an hour long), check out her Ted Talk from 2011 (though honestly watch both). She talks about Shame, Fear, Vulnerability (and the importance of them) from a qualitative research standpoint and she does an amazing job doing so.
I watched both her Netflix Special and Ted Talk back to back one afternoon recently and I have zero shame in saying that it hit deep to my core and I was brought to tears/misty eyes a number of times and came away with a FIRE to really get in touch with my vulnerability and bring it to all that I do. Not only in my Creative Ventures but just in Life in general.
